snake in the road.

tonight while walking the area I secure I came upon a snake.
I have a theory on spiders and snakes where work is concerned.
it is if you are not in the area I have to walk at night, you live...
well I always walk the road with a stick of some sort.
when the snake seemed to follow me. I gave it a whack.
later I drove back to the area the snake was in and it looks like I broke it's back. it looked like it was suffering. so I ran over it. it became one with the road. but i could see it still breathing. so i had to do it again. nothing is worse than feeling something crush under your tire.

I feel so bad. If only the snake had stayed off the road.

in June or July James and I where driving the perimeter. and seen a little snake. it was no thicker than a pencil. it was about 8 to 12 inches long. we both where wearing floppy shoes. so we shoes to stay in the truck. and James asked me if he should kill it. I told him I could not tell hem to kill it or let it go, you have to make your own choice. But I would let it go. it is keeping the kangaroo rats under control.
For the next few weeks i had to hear James complain that we could not walk the perimeter because he thinks the snake is still here...

I put one of those square EverReady flashlights near the flat snake. The snake is almost twice the length of the flashlight. now i will never get James to walk the fence line with me..
OK I will not walk it for awhile either...

I called James and told him i flattened the snake for him.. he is calling me she-ra snake killer women.
so two hours later i see the snake has stopped twitching. And i need to move it off the road. I come to a deli ma. even thought this snake is flat, with guts smushed out, I still thing the snake is cool. I do not just want to throw it over the fence.
But i do not know if i want to skin-it. take the rattle. or what. I can not bring it home James would leave me. he hates snakes. I can not keep it at work the girls at work hate snakes... so I am not sure what to do with it.
but i still have 3 hours to work so i am sure i will find something to do with it...

if anyone is wondering what kind of snake it was.....

please stay away from creepy slithering things. They will not be as concerned with you after they bite you as you are with them. Kill them or avoid them and move on.
