Mary-Carrot

I read Alona's blog and made a commeint that i did not rememder being called mary-carrot.

but as i worked i could hear little voices in my head, giggling as they called me mary-carrot.

then to day i get a note from Connie, reminding me her older girl called me Mary-carrot.

Boy that brings back some fun times.
i would go over to Connie's house and watch the girls.
we would sing and dance and play for hours.

then she moved and i lost my connection with the girls.
If time could be relived, this is one thing i would relive.

I had a neighbor that called me Ameri-Karen
she got a big kick out of my name (and the pain she caused )
she also called me mary-cream-al-do jabar
ha ha ha ha that was so not funny to a little girl with clown hair to begin with.
oh ya and all through school i was told my name sounded like a cause of death.

I had decided when my siblings started having kids i would not make them call me Aunt Mari-Karine but rather Aunt Sissy.

and when i worked pizza for years i hated people getting my name wrong. so i went by my initials MK

then i was talking to someone close to me , and fell in love with my name again.
so call me my name or call me hay you it is of no consequence.
I know who i am, and the lord knows who i am even if i am not called my name.

and i will always love the little girl who called me Mary-carrot i forget, but i am sure i called her names too.

The little girl's name was michelle. I always called you aunt sissy when I was little because you were never there so I figured that you lived some where else. Then I learn that you were my sister and then that really confused me because called you aunt sissy and not sissy. Now I just call you knot head ;-)

Is that Ashley commenting on your blog. Wow, how does that work. I did not even know she read blogs. lol
Anyway, its all a name game and you just have to figure out how you want to play it. You can be the captian of the team or the target. I figured that out a long time ago as well. We have great names that have helped make us who we are. We have created who an Alona is as well as who Marikarine is. There is nothing to be ashamed of in that.
Oh and looking ahead now, check out where those name callers got to. Not the little kids but the ones who were tormenting. How did that pan out for them. Last time I seen her....(the neighbor) she did not appear to be doing any better then we were. Also from the looks of things, she was called a few names as well. Just be glad that you did not stoop to her level.
